The Sunday School at Ballyclare Baptist Church has been active for over 60 years. Our mission is to faithfully teach the Word of God to the children and young people in our classes. We use a curriculum published by Bogard Press (US) and distributed by the American Baptist Association.
For primary school-aged children, this material follows the SPLAT method, which stands for Share, Pray, Learn, Apply, and Tell. These five stages of the lesson encourage children to: Share their thoughts and knowledge about the topic, Pray for understanding and guidance, Learn about the topic through teaching and activities, Apply the lesson to their everyday lives, and Tell what they’ve learned through their memory verse. The Bible Class, uses material originated from the same press, with lessons based in discussions about prevalent subjects young people are facing in their lives everyday in Light of the Word of God.
All primary school-aged children gather for a time of worship before dividing into classes. The Bible Class begins straight away. Following the lesson, we reconvene in the minor hall for snack.
Sunday School and Bible Class are held every Sunday during term time, from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM. Sunday School classes are designed for children ages 3 to 11, while the Bible Class caters to young people ages 12 to 18. All children and young people are welcome! Classes are held in various rooms within the church building, with the main entrance through the Minor Hall door. Other events in our calendar include the Carol Service, Christmas party, Children’s Day, and Sunday School Trip. Please SCHEDULE for our Live Calendar.
